CutSymbolUpGA - Attributes to follow cut view symbol orientation

With AS2020 we do have a nice new option to modify cut symbols placed on GA dwgs. 

Per screenshot below-the cut view when oriented vertically-texts stay horizontal.

Having 2-3 digits for E-dwgs is ok, having 4 digits with a letter E does not fit within the block.

Played for a while with properties for attributes, created new text styles, but no result.

There are very limiting text formatting issues with the labels and  this new symbol......namely text justification and auto resizing to fit.....

I haven't messed with this new symbol much, but it's much better than what we had before and Thank you Autodesk for that.

Now..... what the devs need to do is apply this technique to the camera symbols and we will be in better shape than before.  We need at least a quantity of 3 user configurable camera symbols that we can assign to separate cameras as needed.... One for Det. View s (TOP), Elevation Views (similar to the one above) and a 3rd one for any unique condition a detailer might need in a project. These should all be linked to the symbols folder like the one above.  

While boasting a limited text formatting capability, this new cut symbol shown above is still a WELCOMED addition to the stable. I do not believe that you can transfer the cut view to another drawing at this point and have that symbol show the sheet number to  the original drawing....?

I experimented with this and couldn't get it to move to another sheet..... can anyone confirm this??

Autodesk.....May I have some more crumbs please?

This is exactly what I am asking for months-to be able to send the cut view to a NEW or existing dwg.

Also-If I use camera (or any dwg style) details from the model to send it to a new or existing dwg and details to be numbered and re-numbered if a detail is deleted.

I played with Revit and this works perfectly there.

Hopefully someone will have a look at this and do it, at last, I do not believe it will be so hard to do.

I am thankful for the symbols and the hole labels and the section views symbols alignment, and for the arrangement of the labels.

Step by step we are getting where we are supposed to be, good thing is we have this forum.

On another note, I do not know if this is only with my installation, but AS2020 seems to be faster than 2019.

And another small issue: When cut top to bottom, the attributes look weird with dwg number being on top (the clouded one), we definitely need some way to rotate and move the attributes without exploding the block:

Hi,

looks correct to me, because the parts of the tag are in the same location of the symbol. But maybe to you western reading direction- top to bottom and left to right- are more important.

The reading IMO should be in the following order:

1. Detail number

2. Where is the detail located

But it is not a big deal, we can explode and re-arrange, just dwg number is never in the first place, this is the first time I am seeing it backwards.

There is an option in DYNAMIC blocks elements to flip, but it may be too much to ask, I will work on this when I get more time available.

Thank you for reporting this behavior. Indeed, I would expect to see the section number on top and drawing number below, regardless the cut symbol orientation.

I have documented it and escalated to the development team for further investigations.

Yes, it was added with AS2020, below is a screenshot of MT, the block needs work, (and having dwg number is pointless due to the fact we cannot send the view to a new dwg, it is good looking for sales purposes, of course),  I explode it now in 75% of the cases (When cutting views left to right vertically, right to left vertically, and top to bottom), but it is still something:

This is what I have been asking for, to be able to send it to a new or existing dwg.

Currently, this symbol is nothing but a sales gimmick.

It does not work properly, and referencing same dwg number is pointless.

Let me guess..…. they're "laying the foundation" for a symbol that will eventually reference different sheets.
Ooooo big feature there! Gotta roll it out in baby steps...… don't want the customers to expect too much....

Half baked, and poorly rolled out.
Autodesk business as usual...……. unfortunately.
Who's responsible for these half baked new featureless rollouts?....They couldn't possibly have any real experience structural detailing

Looks like there ARE plenty of resources there.

Hi,

This was requested and the call-out symbol with the same issue numerous times, it is unbelievable how hard it is to get attention this to be fixed.

I explode the symbols to make them look good. I well-known application engineer even said once that this is "such a small thing"

What a shame.

The more  I dig around, the more I realize we called a taxi with not all parts designed to work together and with a driver not having driver's license, and any experience or at least desire to become a good driver.
