Clash Checks - Do they work?

I run the starting guide example and I do some tests.

I placed the bolts outside the plate/section flange and I run the "Clash Check". I get no clashes at all.

What's going wrong?

I believe there is no clash reported as there is no colission volume of interfering solids for the software to recognize. You can modify the collision accuracy and volume from the Management tools.

In your example I believe the Steel Construction Technical Checking ( AstM5CommSemanticCheck ) from the extended modelling ribbon will give you better results.
