Circular shape plates and cuts shown incorrectly on IFC exported file

Hi there,

I'm having trouble on exporting circular shape plates to IFC. Once my model has been exported, I use three different programs to check on it.

- Navisworks Manage: Circular shape plates don't show up as they should

- BIMVision: Everything that is showed is just fine

- Revit: Circular shape plates don't show up as they should

In order to export from AS I use normally use these settings

IFC export options on AS2019IFC export options on AS2019

The final idea is to be able to include our model on larger Smartplant 3D model.

Thanks in advance everyone,

Regards.

the problem is: the plate is created by using a rectangle and then get features on the edges. This is the way Advance Steel create such circular plates. The features are related to the plate in the IFC file, but some software could not "interpet" this.
I'm not sure if the IFC file of Advance Steel is written 100%correct in every case, but if you have software (like in your case BIMvision) which show the model correct, then I would suspect, that the file is correct.

I know Sebastian, this is a real pain in the..., it is so funny, from a few releases now it is possible to export special parts into IFC very accurately (it is not perfect though), and a real AS (BIM) element like a circular plate is coming out like a square plate, to me this is nothing but a setback against its steel detailing competitors.

Edited: The worst part of it is that Navis and Revit shows imported IFC file incorrectly while an IFC viewer like BIMVision looks good.

Regards,

Antonio
