Hi,
Is it possible to change the "#Internal" text to be shorter by default?
The reason I want it modified is that when we give ABOM we also provide preliminary drawings with labels repositioned with longer text:
B#Internal526 is away longer than 100B1 for example.
When MP's are detailed, the labels get shorter, and they need to be repositioned again.
Instead of B#Internal526 to be B#INT for example.
Thank you.

Hi @acbsdesign ,
if you mean the definition of the token itself, take a look at MT, look for the token definition table and try to make a change in one ... There will be more such tables, one for BOM too. I'm not on a PC, I'm still curious if it will work ... to change the basic token definition
Sorry, it seems I have missed this, no, not the token. The default text that is supposed to appear after numbering when steel is not detailed yet.

Hi @acbsdesign,
some pic / example?
BTW, I did not miss going to Chesapeake Bay this summer again. Will be there until I can drive the 12-13 hours
Thank you.

Hi @acbsdesign,
unfortunately, I didn't find anything about this in MT. I think, it's hard coded.
BTW, it's about 450km to my favorite water spot, we really enjoy the trip through the mountains ... beautiful landscape
hmmm but here is something - MT / AstorKernelEnviroment / NumberingMethod - copy the VBscripts in Excel and search for "#internal", you will find several records ... but VBscript is not my cup of coffee 😊 ... maybe another power user can help you
Hi @arkli2009 ,
text in a VB script starting with an apostrophe is just a note, no code...
Yes, I did, thank you. But it did not work.
Thank you for looking at this.

is this for BOM or Labeling?
It could be shorten with a VB Script by using "Replace" for exmaple

For labeling and for External Lists (when providing ABOM).
Thank you.

For labels the script could work:
%%script(Num="%SinglePartPosNum": NewNum = Replace(Num, "#internal",""): appendstring NewNum)
The replace works with the following steps: Replace(original Text, Find text, replace with)
So in my example the whole string #internal will be replaced with nothing.
For external bom you had to got with:
=INum.Replace("#internal","test")
In this case, the "#internal" will be replaced with "test" (as example)

You are the best, look how clean a plan looks now for ABOM, I left couple labels for comparison:
I will do this for all labels.
Thank you and have a great rest of the day.

And this is not only helping plans look better, but also saving time to reposition after beams are detailed and marks get shorter because longer labels overlap geometry (and tend to move) more often than shorter ones.

Hi guys, I found this thread as this is something I really want to implement.
I'm not super familiar with scripts, but can figure them out I'm sure. I do have a few questions.
Do I need to run this script every time I want to remove the #internal from each model?
I intend to replace the "#internal" with "xxx". After I've done that for my preliminary drawings and I've moved the project into the detailing phase, will the "xxx" be replaced with the correct drawing number? I'm using the "SP No (for main part) = Assembly No" and Assembly Method with Drawing Number for all my numbering styles.
Hi, No, once entered in Labeling Strategy it will update automatically after part or MP is detailed.
#Height(3.20)#Color(NUMBER)#Bold(1)%%script(Num="%MainPartPosNum": NewNum = Replace(Num, "#internal","X"): appendstring NewNum)
Please enter the desired color in NUMBER (bold) field.
It helps, once repositioned, labels don't move due to length.
Have a great day.
