Change import mapped profile

When importing form .smlx file created in Robot, some profiles dont come mapped as I wish.

I have inedvertently skipped a profile when choosing how to map it when syncing.

How can I change this?

I'm looing into GTC_Mapping2017.mdb, but cant find what I'm looking for.

Example:

L40x40x4 profile is comming in as L60x60x6

L60x60x6 profile is comming in as L60x60x6

Obviously I would like to find and correct the mapping...

Hi. Are the profiles from those example lines coming like this because you mapped them to an incorrect section, or this was the initial behavior ? 

A quick solution would be to restore the GTCMapping to its initial state, if you didn't do any mappings before.

It was my mistake when mapping.

How do I reset (revert) the GTC MApping?

Management tools- table editor - second button on top left, open databases - browse to the country data folder under advance steel 2018, found within :

Program data-Autodesk - advance steel 2018- country ref(GBR) -steel - data - gtcmapping.mdf

Then when loaded look for either profile_exports_conversion or gtc_profile_conversion
Look for the line entry in those tables, you should find the mapping.

Delete the line, in question from the table.

It should then reset, when you import again asking for mapping.

You could also change the mapping line entry to correct it to required size etc.

That's where I was lookin, but those tables are longer then a monday...

Microsoft Access is a better at rummaging through the .mdb's.

bumping up this old thread.

One of our users was importing a Robot model into Advance 2018.  When the dialog box popped up to choose the proper profile size they just said OK,OK,OK,OK over and over without changing anything.  Now a whole pile of HSS and L's import into advance as:

Just Great.

So I've got my GTCMapping database loaded into my table editor and I'm looking at GTC_Profile_Conversion and Profile_Exports_Conversion but I have no idea how to read the thing and which lines I need to delete so I can re-map it.  What happens if I delete the wrong lines?  Is it catastrophic?  Any tips on finding which lines to delete?

I would suggest you make a backup of the databases first. Just copy it to a safe place (usualy I make a folder in the same place and name with the date the backup is made).

Entries you are looking for should be at the bottom of the list.

Delete a line (or two), reload database.

Import Robot model and see if any mapping dialog box pops up.
