box around part on drawing.

Just curious what this box (shown in attachment) represents , I couldn't find thread about it online or in the forum.

Could you just check the style used for the drawing, you can access the properties and it should show this.

got a feeling this maybe to do with additional   elements and the assembly selection type from the DS.

I right clicked on the part, picked Advance detail properties, under beam - bottom and beam - top I selected either always on or always off instead of auto and the box disappeared

Ok, so if you delete a view or elements from the view this is update detail box.

to remove this you use the update detail command, you can do this within the drawing file you are in.

labels and dimension ribbon, look for the command on the right side update detail,

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/advance-steel/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2019/ENU...

the grey box should then be removed.   Note this may bring back some dimensions, not sure if the fixed that.

Ok Thanks John, from now on when I see that I will use the update detail command.
