I tried to use a u-bent plate but i cant get the "Flatten expanded metal" hatch to it, so that didn't work. I am assuming if I create a user section, that will be the same as using a u-bent plate?. I also tried the variable gratting to get he "flattened expanded metal" hatch, but i could find a way to u-bend a variable grating on AS. Any more ideas that you think will work?
