Beam to post connection

Hi All, I am fairly new to advance steel so I'm sorry if this is a simple or dumb question.

is there a way or what is the way to put a top plate on a post for a beam connection ( similar to a base plate connection)

please see below for what I'm trying to achieve without creating a plate then adding holes and placing on the post.

any help on this would be appreciated.

use baseplate and the checkbox for "switch beam end":

Another connection could be:

Or you use the endplate connection and place holes. If you use this often, maybe a user connection would be good.
