Beam lines not trimming after apply cut to beam etc

Hi Everyone

I am facing problem with Beams see below image.

when I apply cut at object or mitter but there are still beam axis line showing in red.

could someone explain why and how to correct it.

Hi,

yes, normally the red axes line keeps but you can stretch or trim on a line or surface with Advance Steel Tool before.

the line you mean is the system line, by using the cut command, you only cut the beam solid but not the system line. 
This is a very important function, because for a few import and export commands, not the beam itself is exported, it's the system line which is used. 
And so if the red system lines are not connected to each other, it could be a big problem to export the model to a static design software.
If you want to cut the red line, please use the extend trim command of the tool palette:

Thanks very Much for your information but when applied

the results different as shown below. the beam part going backword.

is not there anything where the system line can only be extended upto beam maximum lengths only.

Hi Muhammad,
it seems you have a shortening in your beam, please change the visibility of the beam, delete the green shortening.

If you use the button normaly it works fine. Important, stretch and trim the beam bevore you use this button!!

Hi Karsten thanks for swift response. 

Could you please explain

how to change visibility?  it the conceptual or realistic views etc or something else.

I have tried multiple time for using cut at object tool as you mentioned. but it didn't extends to the other beam surface. just a grey box appears only.

Hi Muhammad,

you need an Advance Steel training! 🙂

Wizh doppel click on grey box you will this window, please check if you have a cap:

If not, please delete the green rectangle, maybe it's twice in the connection and if the the gray box is also delete, no problem, delete all green rectangles. after you create a new cut on object and it works.

thanks I have checked and there were 2 green rectangles one at cut area and one at top surface of lower beam.

after deleting the top rectangle it got fixed.

Hello,

Make sure the two beams in question are intersecting or atleast touching each other.

That's the only way the trim command will work. This is because one beam acts as a reference to cut against the other.
