beam connection to embed plate

Is it normal for the shear plate connection function to not work against attaching to a vertically placed plate?

Elevator divider beams for example. Usually there's embeds.

Thanks,

Here's what I do while in a pinch

Alternatively, What I did was create a connection template that I could place and quickly modify for faster future placement.

I have not even ventured into custom connections yet. 😐

Hey what is that other icon you have there below the modify one?

That's a customized tool palette.

I made it myself and dedicated Autocad commands to it.

You can follow this link to see how.

And this link for more info on customizing the palette

Hi,

The joints in connection vault only ever work with beams not plates. Could you use a Flat bar instead of a vertical plate? (I obviously don't know what dimensions you are using to tell whether that is sensible).
