Base View Command Problem

Hi all AS users,

I'm having problems trying to create a base view from a model that is partly created with Autocad solids and partly AS entities.

When I create the view I either get a partial view which only includes the Autocad solids or the program locks up and I have to terminate the program and restart AS.

Maybe you upload the model or a Screencast, only from your post it's not easy to find the problem.

Hi,

I wouldn't use Base View. I doubt it will handle the Advance Steel objects properly. Instead create a normal AS GA drawing with a suitable overview or 3D GA style. To get the AutoCAD solids to show in the drawing depends on how you do the drawing:-

If using the Drawing Styles palette then you should select all the solids before clicking on the style on the palette. The selected solids should show in the drawing.

If using Cameras than check your default Drawing General > General > Allow detailing of CAD entities inside Camera Drawings is ticked (update defaults if you change it) before generating the vie from the camera (running the process).
