Assembly drawing number in Main part labels of arrangement drawing.

Hello All,

I am using AS 2022 USA Environment.

Is there any way I can add assembly drawing number in the main part labels of the arrangement(Erection or GA) drawings. For examble there are C1, C2, C3, and C4 column and there drawings are in C1 and C2 in 101 and C3 and C4 in 102 respectively. So is there any way to get there labels as 101C1, 101C2, 102C3, 102C4 in  the arrangement ( Erection or GA Drawings).

Its not Important that the label should look exactly like this, the main requirement is to get the Assembly drawing number in the main-part label.

Thanks

You could use a numbering which include the drawing number in the mainpart number.
Or you had to transfer the mainpart drawing number maybe in a userattribute which could be set in the labels for the mainpart.

Thanks for the reply.

I am generating multiple drawings in one sheet and I guess this way the numbering with drawing number wont help. Right?

Is there any such token which can directly give the drawing number in the label? Because when I put multiple drawings in one sheet I manually cut drawing from one sheet and past it in another to fit maximum number of drawings in one sheet and using user attribute could be a lot of manual work in this case.

what do you mean with multiple drawings on one sheet? multiple layouts sheets?  AS is not supporting multiple layouts, so the there'll be no solution.
And additional: there's no token for Drawing number, you need to transfer it manual

As Sebastian said, there is no token to read the drawing number a part is detailed in.

Rather than detailing multiple assemblies on one sheet, I would suggest a better method is to use one part per drawing and ensuring the drawing number relates to the assembly mark.

This can be done by using "with drawing number" as Sebastian said. My preferred method though is to number the parts and then use the part number token in the process (file names) and prototypes (drawing title).

Thanks for the suggestion.

I use this method already but one of my clients has an special requirement in which he wants me to get the assembly drawing number in the main part labels of erection drawings and he wants me to generate multiple layouts in one sheet. Anyway, I will have to do this manually the way I am doing already.

Thanks again!!
