yes you are correct we are bringing our first version of a towers designers with the PowerPack for Advance Steel in 2024, that was in our news release last week, that you spotted, Graitec to continue bringing value and support to Advance Steel
just working on our what new document at the moment :
we are still testing it, as it is in beta, but the aim is to bring this version to enable the easier modelling of the overall tower structures, with a view to bring further enhancements in later versions driven by user engagement, we are trying see if there is a market for this type of macro within the AS user base, I have seen these kind of structures modelled by AS users, and several of them where kind enough to share with us their initial inputs to this idea.
anyway here's a quick no frills video I just made of a very quick run though of the tower basics.

I'm very interested in this, if you need some input or my opinion you can contact me ... I'm teaching Special steel structures (towers and masts) at the university and also i'am a designer of lattice towers for our state electrical company...
These are only 2 towers made in AS by me...

From what I read in the statement, the platform will be keep current to follow its core of autocad, there is no mention of it being obsolete.
‘Autodesk is committed to maintaining Advance Steel’s existing features and quality, as well as providing support for our partners, 3rd parties and user communities who continue to add value to Advance Steel’.
there is no mention of it being obsolete, for the immediate time they are asking for support from partners to continue to add to the value of the platform via apps, which the last time I checked is the way the whole world works, you get a platform service and then 3rd party developers add functions and feature via API developed apps.
therefore from our point of view nothing changed, as I previously stated we continue with supporting the user base with Powerpack and our local support teams and thorough social media platforms and forums, where we freely share our knowledge.
I said to some earlier today, it’s only like any company assigning a resource to a get a task done, so that means something else has to stop in the meantime, does not mean it is obsolete, it’s just going along as normal.
things change, things evolve, the world moved on in recent years with the changes in working practices and how and where people work and with whom.
Progress can be a challenge for everyone, but without we will not evolve.

@bigcarl5000kg , currently we are testing in 2023 and will continue to test in coming version, due soon I believe, as it normally follows after the main ACAD release.
this is graitec technology and our product, delivered as part of the powerpack, this is the first version and as previously stated, we are looking for further feedback that is constructive to drive the development of the tool forward in a direction that is user driven, currently we have made some decisions based upon structural design considerations and parameters, but as with all things, there is that detailers eye needed to refine and hone a tool to achieve an optimum workflow.
as this is graitec technology , we may choose to take this to our analysis and design platform, advance design, if the user market response requests such an workflow of linking design intent and analysis of structural integrity. For detailing, as we stated we are supporting the Autodesk advance steel platform and the user base of that platform.
But like everything, as cloud and modelling tools evolve, then as any other business model this will evolve to accommodate the market needs, but unfortunately I do not have a deloren to see into the future, or even get back to the future 🙂
