Can Advance Steel create dimensions and labels
automatically on drawings or I need to manually insert them after a drawing is
generated?

Advance Steel automatically creates dimensions
and labels on drawings, based on specific configurations made in “Drawing Style
Manager”. Out of the box you have a series of drawing styles already
configured, but you can also make modifications to them to suite your
requirements.

In addition to automatic labels, you can also add manual labels on the drawing and use certain custom configuration for the text inside. The text can point to an object property through a series of tokens, or can be user text. User text can also be recieved from the model through object attributes likes User Attribute, that can store text which can then be displayed in the label through the right token. The position of automatic labels is customised, and manual labels can be placed anywhere on the drawing (to create a manual label you need to select an object on the drawing).

let me re-phrase my question...after generating AS automatic drawing, I find that the labels to do not change scale to match the scale of the drawing, when we manually change the generated drawing scale. In ASD you could set the automatic labels as annotative and as you modified the scale of the drawing, the labels and dims would follow suit....

Advance Steel drawings use a scale for plotting of 1:1 (1mm on the AS drawing layout equals 1mm of paper print), therefore the labels do not need to change scale to match. If a label has a 4mm text height when its at 1:10 scale (and printed with "Plot scale = 1:1"), after the drawing is rescaled, you still need to label to have 4mm height (and not for example 2mm height if you change the scale to 1:20), considering that when printed on paper, you still use "Plot scale = 1:1".

If you need to change the size of an automatic label, you can do it before generating the drawing thorugh Drawing Style Manager, where the label editor offers size controls for the text, or manually on the already created drawing, for each label, by accessing its Advance properties dialog that opens a label editor where the same text editing features are present as in Drawing Style Manager.
