Advance Steel & AutoCAD Architecture

I have a drawing created in AutoCAD Architecture using AEC Wall objects. I can either insert it as a block or as an Xref into Advance Steel. All looks good until I try to create a model view in AS. The AutoCAD Architecture objects don't show up in the model view. I have checked the "Allow detailing of CAD entities inside camera drawings" in Management tools.

Any idea of how to get this to work? I'm using 2023 versions of both software packages.

Thanks,

-Jim

Hi,

AS can usually only draw model objects it knows. Can u export from AutoCAD Architecture an smlx-format?

Other options are STEP or IGES formats. Import them in a new AS Model and Save as dwg. After that u can import it as special part. But never worked with AutoCAD Architecture, so maybe there is a better way...

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try.

I was looking to have the Architecture objects show for installation/erection drawings.
