To use drawing styles from different installation versions :

  • Run Advance Steel 2019 English installation  using the content  from which you would like to use drawing styles and which is not the installation content  under which you usually work.

for example: you are usually work on (INT) international installation content, and you need to add the (USA or AUS or GRB) installation content to yours one .

  • After open AS based on the (USA) or (AUS) or (GRB) go to Drawing Styles Manager and then export, one by one, the drawing styles you need to use in your usual installation content (ex: (INT)).
  • Close Advance Steel.
  • Open a new Advance Steel session and change the installation content to your usual one (INT).
  • Go to Drawing Styles Manager and import the drawing styles you previously exported from the other installation version.

sorry but: this is a known procedure and could be read in the Advance Steel help, but it's not a good one...in my opinion
By exporting and importing the detail styles, there were problems, because by importing the detail styles, the modelobjects, label strategy and so on are imported as "Copy of" and will not use the exisiting one which are already, there. This could occurs errors and will blow up you AstorAddIn.
I'm not 100% sure if this problem is existing in AS2019, but be carefull with import and export.,

You could start AS twice and then create your own by using the settings. In the most cases the dimension rules are the interesting things and this could be easily transfer per eye 😁

Excuse me , do you mean that i create all these drawing styles from scratch by eye ?

i think it's a very boring process and of curse it will take along time

i think it's no suitable any more

That's a question of how many...if you want to copy so many, just use the other version.

Good afternoon,

This video shows how you can install multiple languages (and corresponding drawing styles) of Advance Steel 2019 side by side on the same computer:

but then you have different versions installed. he want to have only some drawing styles, not the whole. I don't think he want to create drawings one day in the english international and the other day in the spain version.
As we wrote since years, the import and Export of detail styles should work as everyone think it should work:
if an imported label stragedy with the same name already exist, it should be used not imported as "copy of"

If you have installed Advance Steel 2019 in English on your computer, a solution is to choose the country "Content" when you start the software:

Advance Steel 2019 English - Select content.png

Nota: if this "Country Settings and Configurations" dialog box does not show up when you start Advance Steel, you need to go to the Management Tools > Options, and then un-select this setting and restart Advance Steel:

Management Tools - Options.png

Here is how it works:

If you choose "Australia" ...

Select content - Australia.png

... then you will have access to drawing styles for Australia:

Australia - Drawing styles.png

If you choose "United Kingdom" ...

Select content - United Kingdom.png

.... then you will have access to drawing styles for the UK:

UK - Drawing styles.png

Hope it helps,

Regards / Philippe

no this is not possible, maybe by changing the AstorDetails (C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Advance Steel 2019\installaed_version\Steel\Data), because if you use the one from the international, the "advance Area" should be ,from the international, and the "User area" (little blue man) should be from the other version. But I would make a backup before testing it.
