Is there any way to create a summary of steel where the total weight per assembly or multiple assemblies can be shown as attached

I am getting summary as shown in middle table but not getting anything as shown in clouds.

Experts from Autodesk help highly appreciated, i am not finding any relevant token for this

The pic I have posted is self explanatory

Say an Assembly has 5 Beams say UB254 of different lengths then I would like the total weight of of all 5 Beams combined in Summary shown in the clouded portion in pic attached.

I don't think there is any token for that but there may be a way around, that's the reason I have asked the experts to reply on the forum

I want the something similar as clouded to come on drawing sheet itself like a BOM on drawing

Thanks

Hi,

The BOM I attached displays all parts required for one assembly. So if the assembly is made up of 6 beams in various lengths and various plates then these will be detailed showing length, grade weight etc. The total weight for that assembly is then shown at the bottom.

There are various BOM in AS which can be found in the Labels and dimensions ribbon under 'Insert a BOM'

Kind Regards

Chris

Hey Chris no offence here buddy but look at my question and drawing attached, take some pause to understand and reply

I have been using AS since Graitec AS 2009 and was a re seller and trainer for India at that time,I have fair bit of knowledge of customization in drawings styles and BOM templates.I am also aware of all BOM styles internal as well as external.A lot of things can be done and customized. So far neither I am getting tokens or way around getting Summary of Steel Section wise in drawing.

Please carefully read below and answer only if you have the requisite understanding - Right now I am looking at Autodesk or Graitec guys like Emy Nestor or Alex or Janet or other experts on forum to answer

Rephrasing Question

Say in the entire project of say 100 tons is it possible to get a summary of Steel Section wise in the shortest possible table limited to Sections and total weight for that section in entire project so that contractor can order rather than looking at long excel lists.Below is what i require in drawing

1) UB254x146x43=25,254

2) plt 10 thk = 14554

3) plt 6 thk = 6654

4) UC305x305x118=53538

Total = 100,000

yes this is possible.
I create a list like this (you had to change the reportheader from german to english). The fields are set to "not shown" so it could be summarize.
The weight about the whole model, I realize with a second list (structured list) and set all field to "not shown" but not the weight in model. If you have to much time, then you could maybe add another additional groupheader and -footer (you wrote you made customs bom), this should work too.

I made an exception this time normally I didn't share my templates 😃 (both are AS2018)

And additional: @CHRIS_ASDL is an Advance User too with a bis knowledge (remember he only want to help you), in my opinion your picture didn't show what you want, your second explanation was a little bit better.

A Big thank you to Sebastian Eiche and Emy Nestor.

Sebastian thanks for sharing you BOM template and knowledge, I know it is personal work and lot of effort goes into creating one. Thanks

I think we should have a place on forum to share templates, draw styles, dimension etc.Earlier Autocad forums used to have a separate area where users could share blocks, scripts and autolisp routines.

Francis

to share knowledge by giving tips and tricks is no problem, but sharing templates is difficult, because this is knowledge where the companies earn money (my company too). To create detail styles, bom templates and so on is needed to get be a good service partner to other companies, so it's difficult to share it to the world 😃

Normally it should work to input both on the same detail.

that's not possible. But maybe with another property, if it's very important. Ou could chose the beam and insert the grid in a userattribute maybe userattribute 4 and then you let this property show in the list.

I see you use a BOM on drawing. There it will not be possible, just use two fields and place them together
