Absolute dimension issue

This is the first job I've done since updating to 2018. I've attached a screenshot of an absolute dimension line below a beam.    The swap sides check box isn't doing anything.  I've had this issue in older versions if the dimensions were put to close to the assembly.  I've tried to redimension farther from the drawing but its the same result.  Is this a known issue and does anyone have a solution?  Thanks

I have this issue as well with AS18.  It forces the text above and to the left of the dimension line regardless of the orientation of the dimensions, so there are text conflicts with the witness lines whenever you try to use a running dimension that is below or to the right of the object being dimensioned.  VERY ANNOYING AND NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED.
