3D Model Total Weight

Hi guys,

the command is "CENTER OF GRAVITY and TOTAL WEIGHT CALCULATION"
first: is there a list, an online guide, help, something that specifically indicates what is being considered and how to calculate the weights of the complete 3D model?

second: Are the bolts weighed?
Can the welds be weighed?

I tried on the HELP guide, on the forum but I did not find any answer about it!

Thanx all!!

d.

Accepted solution

I don't know if there's a documentation, but I could say: bolts and weld are not implemented.
To get the weight of the model with bolts--> use a material BOM list and use the token for the total weight.
Weld could not be shown, because the modelobject have no weight (it's only a line in the model). But the most just use the function to calculate maybe 5% of the total weight.

Can you show show how to calculate that 5% of total weight of the project in BOM? Thanks

I'm not in the office for a few days, but if you have look here in the forum or just in the Autodesk Knowledge you will find a few article for calculating in bom editor.

You had to insert a new field and then calculate the weight*1,05.

I could give you some pics if you wait a few days 🙂

But when I write that kind of formula it calculates for every element. I want want to calculate 5% of total weight of the project at the end of bom

For summarize the total weight, it is necessary to have this fields, because if the weight is not calculated it could not be summarised.

You could set the field to 'not visible' in the properties on the right side. Then summarize it and only let this field to be shown.
