Using BIM models on site for execution of a project is becoming the standard way of execution. BIM kiosks and tablets have replaced 2D drawings. This requires some upgrades for the current BIM model viewer:
- Allowing BIM model aggregation from a blank canvas or multi-selection of files
- Easy possibility to save a view (including hidden objects, measurements, 3d text annotations, coloring) in order to prepare for a meeting or to prepare instructions for team members.
- Including the data-table in the model viewer in Docs to efficiently use the object's information (e.g. casting sequence) to use (filter, sort, visibility) the BIM model(s) on site for execution
- Improving the measurement tools within the viewer (e.g. snap to surface for perpendicular measure, snap to lines, improved visualization,...)
- Adding the integration of point-clouds to enable comparision with site context
Those improvements will allow users on site stay within ACC and use the integrated viewer for execution.
