Currently, collaborative editing of Word and Excel files stored in Autodesk Construction Cloud is only supported through the online versions of Microsoft Office. This limits workflows for teams who rely on desktop applications for advanced features and offline capabilities.
I propose adding support for real-time co-authoring in Microsoft Office desktop apps when files are stored in ACC, even when using Desktop Connector. This would greatly improve efficiency for construction teams and align ACC with modern collaborative standards.
Why this matters:
- Many construction workflows require advanced Excel and Word features only available in desktop apps.
- Real-time collaboration reduces version conflicts and improves productivity.
- Competitors already offer similar integrations, so this would keep ACC competitive.
