BuildingConnected - Delete bid packages

BuildingConnected - Delete bid packages

Hello, I would like to request Autodesk to bring back a long standing feature of BuildingConnected which supported deleting bid packages / bidders after publishing the package. In a small construction business like ours, we occasionally need to revise our scope of work. This can involve removing a bid package or a bidder entirely.

Autodesk customer support suggested, we could technically create a new project and close the existing one to achieve the same outcome; however, this approach would result in unnecessary redundancy within ACC’s data storage systems, wasted man hours on our end, and added confusion for the bidders.

Yes, I agree — we need this feature back. The ability to delete bid packages or bidders after publishing is essential for small construction businesses. Creating a new project every time we revise our scope is inefficient and leads to unnecessary data duplication and confusion. Restoring this functionality would greatly improve workflow flexibility and reduce administrative overhead.

This feature is very important for our team to coordinate packages and to meet project timelines as it streamlines services.

Since the removal of the long-standing feature that enabled us to delete a bid package or an entire bidder, managing our projects has become significantly more difficult. We kindly ask that this feature be reinstated to improve workflow and efficiency.

bringing back bid package deletion would restore much-needed flexibility, minimize confusion and administrative workload, improve relevance of bid communications, and help small/mid level businesses maintain accurate, streamlined project data using less staff resources

This isn't just a small contractor issue. Everyone can benefit. Our designers just changed a finish from ceramic tile to VCT mid bid, so now we have no tile scope and an unnecessary package, creating confusion with bidders despite our messages. Please bring this back!

Thank you for your support! We hope to get this noticed by the Autodesk development team and get these changes implemented.

I agree, we recently found out that we had a mandatory vendor, for trade, and I can't delete it, AND I am being told to delete the job and start over.... ya that's not going to work. PLEASE bring back the delete button!!!

Agree!  See below for JE Dunn's feature request on the topic:

Description

We have made last-minute business case decisions that require us to rescind invites from trades, examples:

  • We decide to budget only in house for a specific scope of work, or

  • We are opting to utilize self-perform only and do not want this out to the market, OR

  • We realize too late that a scope is not actually included in a project…

…but with current processes in place on BC, you can not rescind trade partner invitations OR delete companies from an invite once published, or delete bid packages that may no longer be relevant.

In many cases, the estimators are publishing the project before fully understanding all of the scopes included in the project and we realize too late that we may have wasted a trade partners time and effort.

Similarly, if we decide once reviewing the business plan that in order to achieve our financial goals we need to utilize self perform, we can not go back and rescind invites.

Business Case

Just like all programs, an “undo” button is needed (aka remove companies and rescind invites).

They need to bring this feature back especially since we pay to have an account with BC why this is was taken away in the first place makes no sense to me.

I am also a supporter of this option.  I would also like the option to remove a company as well.  So many times a company gets added to the bid list more than once because the company is listed in the database several times with different contacts for each one.

We need to be able to delete bid packages after this project is published. It makes no sense why we cant do this. Please fix this
