We use assets and related forms a lot in our company. The ability to prepopulate built forms with metadata from the related asset (to include the client asset id, description, category, location and selected custom fields) would be an excellent feature, rather than the user having to manually enter data that is already in the system. Having the data prepopulate would reduce the instances of input errors and would greatly enhance the experience for the user that is either creating the form instance or completing an existing form instance. The inability to link to this data has meant that we have had to upload mailmerged pdf forms as templates into the system which greatly reduces the functionality to enhance the form content with question specific photos, issues etc.
