Hi. We have literally inherited a collection of more than 1000 .dwg files dated from early 1990s until 2014. We used the default to "choose an app from the app store" and selected Autocad360. Now we get a message "can;t open this file. try again". Any help or direction will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bill B.
Hi Lori,
Thanks for posting your question to the forum. The AutoCAD 360 Forum can be found at the following location, and I can move this message if that helps.
If you do not need to edit these files, you can use A360 Team or Drive.
A360 Team:
You can just upload the files to A360 Team, or BIM 360 Team in a project. Then view them, and allow others to view the files as well.
A360 Drive:
You can also open these up in A360 Mobile on iOS or Android. It's a free app that you can download from the app store depending on what type of mobile device you are using.
You can sign up for a FREE 30 day trial for BIM 360 Team at the following link.
Autodesk BIM 360 Team FREE Trial:
Also depending on how many drawings you need to upload, you could use A360, it's a FREE Single Project 5 gig HUB where you can upload your files, view them, mark them up and even share with others.
Autodesk A360 Free Personal HUB:
We also have A360 Drive that is our older service and you can get a free 5 GIG account for that as well, but I would recommend using A360 or BIM 360 Team, if you need to collaborate with others.
Hope this helps and please let me know if you have any questions.
Many thanks to Mr. Schroeder and the Autodesk Community for the prompt and professional response. The situation is satisfactorily resolved. Best Regards, Bill B.
