A360 Drive drawing sharing issues

Hello, I would appreciate some assistance with sharing of drawings with other users. Here's our setup.

We are currently using A360 drive in Internet Explorer on a desktop to upload our drawings to the cloud. An iPad2 with the same login is able to quickly download the file from the cloud and everything works fine. We would like to be able to limit the iPad user to just 'View' the file so we now have a second account for the A360 Drive on the desktop and we are trying to share the files with the other account.

Whenever we try to share the same or similar file from the second (desktop) login the iPad starts slowly loading the file and then eventually gives an error "this file cannot be opened, please try opening it again." Opening it again leads to the same result. The file is rather small, around 111KB. We have tried the following steps.

  • Updated the Autocad 360 app on the iPad
  • Uploaded from two different accounts
  • Uploaded from Chrome browser and updated Internet Explorer
  • Removed ‘read-only’ tag from file prior to uploading just in case

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Zachary,

Thanks for posting your question to the A360 Drive forum. I'm not sure you can limit what happens with AutoCAD 360 on the iPAD. You may want to have them use A360 Mobile, it's a viewer and then they will not be able to edit any files. Here is the link for A360 Mobile on the app store

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id874184071

You may also want to send an eMAIL directly to the AutoCAD 360 Team. I would move this message but that team is not on the Autodesk Lithium forums. Here is an eMAIL alias that you can use to reach out directly to the team.

feedback@autocad360.com

Hope this helps and please let us know how this goes.
