multiple design options in same view with linked RVTs

I have a site model into which I have linked a Revit model with several design options.  I would like to copy the linked model several times in the site model and display each design option in the site model view.  I'm able to select which design option is displayed per the linked model in the visibility overrides/ RVT Link Display Setting but it changes it for all the copied models.  How can I adjust this per each copied link?

Thanks in advance to the geniuses who can help me.

I don't think you need to copy the linked model several time.  Create different Views for different Options, go to VG > Revit Links tab> Display Settings = Custom > Design Options tab: and pick the Option you want for that view.  Repeat the process for other views of other options.

ToanDN,

Thank you for your quick reply.

Unfortunately I need to show four towers that are on the same site in different locations with different roof top amenities.  So the towers have some slight variations but are overall virtually the same.

I would like to avoid creating different linked models where virtually 90% of the building is the same except for the roof.  It becomes difficult to manage the files after a while just to have 10% be out of the norm.

I see.  I didn't read your title carefully (keyword = "in same view"). Anyways, the process is the same, you change the VG for each link instance to custom and assign a different Design Option for each one of them.

This will globally change the view of all copied instances of the linked model to one specific option.  There does not seem to be a way to click on linked instance of linked File1 OptionA and linked File1 OptionB within the same view.

I would like to display Option A, B, C & D for each copied instance of one linked model in one view.  Not sure if this is possible in Revit?

I believe otherwise. If you change it for instances like I show, not the parent link then they will present different options. Unfortunately I am away from my computer so I will have get back to you later.

Ah, the penny dropped.

I think I got it.  I have to change it in the submenu once I open the tree to the linked file further.  Awesome.   That helps a lot.  Fantastic!

I have a similar situation, but the problem is that when I set design options for my links in views, after some time these options sets off and it becomes default <<Automatic>>. What might be the problem, that links is not keeping these options as I set it?

Thanks!

Having the same issue and on repeat. Very frustrating and time consuming. View templates continue to reset themselves for no reason. Model and links all cloud based.

I am also seeing this issue with a number of our projects. Anyone found a solution?
