The history timeline is great but it'd be very useful to have the ability to fork a design into tagged branches (1.x production, feature X, study Y, etc).
Really awesome (though extremely challenging on your end) would be a diff / merge tool that lets people take multiple forks and fuse them back into a single design branch.
I understand that branching paths in the UI could become rather…complex… but I wonder if, since we now have a "Save As" option, it would be good to insert a marker into the timeline with a link to the saved file. That might be a budget method for tracing design branching.
