Cooling Fan noise

I put a Volcano 6 CPU fan and an extra case fan in the computer I built
a few months ago. This is the noisiest computer I've ever heard, the
whirr/humm of the machine can be heard throughout the whole (small)
house.

I'm pretty sure I have the fans blowing the proper directions; in at the
power supply and out the front and back.

Are there quieter fans out there or is this the price to pay for a cool
system?

Thanks

The volcano 6 is one of the loudest CPU fans I have ever used. I would
reccomend a Volcano 9 with a variable speed fan so that you can turn it down
to eliminate some noise.

I have that same HSF in my house, and I was planning on replacing just the
fan with a low-noise version.
