ViewBase Command not generating certain projected view

Tried to use the ViewBase command in AutoCAD 2013 to generate Top, Front, Side & Perspective Projected views in Layout.

However, only the Side & Perspective were generated as for the Front & Top, I am only left with a empty red box.

Any ideas what's wrong?

Tx.

Hi,

did you try to create that view objects from an Inventor project or from objects in the modelspace?

If second, can you upload this drawing?

BTW: you have tried the same procedure with other project-data? Is it working with other data?

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

You need to convert polyface meshes in your drawing to surfaces in order to see them in views created with VIEWBASE command.

You need to execute tree commands - at first check that smooth level is set to 0, than convert polyface to mesh, then convert mesh to surface:

Command: FACETERSMOOTHLEV
Enter new value for FACETERSMOOTHLEV <1>: 0
Command: MESHSMOOTH
Select objects to convert: 1 found
Select objects to convert:
Command: CONVTOSURFACE
Mesh conversion set to: Faceted and optimized.
Select objects:

The base view contains only all available solids and surfaces in the model space.
