Substance Designer Materials Render Black With Arnold

Hello Everyone,

While in Active shade mode, with legacy map support checked, my substance material will render but only the base color. No normal or height information renders. I use the substance2 map and then using the substance menu in 3dsmax, I set up using Substance to Arnold.

When I try to render in production mode, the objects render black.

Are there any solutions for this?

I'm updated to the current MAxtoA for 3dsmax 2018.

Thank you,

David

It sucks that this person's question has been sitting here since August without even a reply.  I am having the same issue. Not much hope of getting an answer I suppose?Man Frustrated

So, thanks to Wes at Allegorithmic, I learned that there is a checkbox under Render Setup, system tab called 'Legacy 3ds Max Map support' that must be checked in order to see substances in the production renderer.  It is however a current limitation of the plug-in that an activeshade preview is unavailable so far.  They are working with Autodesk to get that situation fixed.
