strange texture/relfection

Ok so i'm a beginner and have no training in animation; I have a ton of photoshop/illustrator experience and exposure to 3D modeling. I've inherited a trove of assets to work with to create renderings for use on the web and print. my predecessor created all the files and I have very little understand of how he did things. I've learned to manipulate and bring in new components and assign materials and I've taught myself a little about textures etc.

SO, the problem I have is that when creating a rendering, no matter what I do, I'm getting a strange blotchy/cloudy appearance and/or reflection on surfaces that are supposed to be smooth and mirror-like. Polished stainless steel is the look i'm going for. I've tried importing to a standard template; starting from scratch, and using pre-made scenes and importing the components I need.

I just want the surface to be smooth! Please help!Capture.JPG

In the file menu, you find an "archive" point, it will pack a zip file with scene and textures.

Upload it here and we can take a look.

First intuition is that there is a bitmap attached to the material that controls reflection or some other parameter.

ZIP file uploaded. thank you for your response. I also assumed it was a bitmap or something similar but could not located the issue.

Replace this material, use and arch&design and then select CHROME from the template.  In the reflection properties, change the glossiness to 0.4, increase the glossy samples to 48.
