Spherical gradient map?

Is it possible to create a spherical gradient map?

As opposed to the linear or radial gradient maps already available. 2d maps only.

Im using procedural noise maps (which are volumetric) with particles but I need a simple gradiated sphere too.

thanks remainz

Would love to know an answer to this please. It seems you can perform a spherical gradient very easily in cinema 4D but can't quite see the same function in 3ds max.

Cheers,

With Gradient Ramp Map:

Cinema4D: Spherical Map = MAX: Radial Map

Cinema4D: Radial Map = MAX: Spiral Map

Thanks for the response.

I believe cinema 4D has a unique 3D Sphere gradient that I'm attempting to replicate in 3ds max. I've used camera projections etc but just wondering if I'm being a bit silly?

The radial gradient in max does not perform the same as the 3D Sphere gradient which is like a 3D sphere is penetrating the mesh and giving varying gradients in the viewport. So you can control the effect by navigating the mesh.
