Silvery Material

I am making an engagement ring, and I'm trying to make the material for the ring itself. I am having troubles making a silvery material that is shiny but not reflective. I'm only a second year student, so my knowledge of materials is pretty limited. I know how to use textures off the internet, and how to use physical materials a little bit, but neither of these are giving me the results I'm wanting, and YouTube is no help. all i can find is videos using Vray, which is not an option for me sadly.

If you use Arnold, I can help.

Use a bit of roughness in the specular roughness component.

You can use 2 materials with Arnold.

Physical Material & Arnold Standard Surface.

The 2 slots you are interested in controlling regarding reflection sharpness and blur are highlighted with the green arrows.

Maybe show an example of a ring surface you want to replicate to make it easier to debug.

Found some random ring on the net.
So you want to work with the Specular_roughness to give the ring a more blurry reflection, you can add micro scratches, but the image you show reveals no such this, it shows a glossy reflective surface.

IOR for diamond is 2.42, you can add cromatic aberation in the additional parameters to get rgb structures into the diamonds.

If you need to make any metal material .. you don't need a texture from internet

just follow these steps

1 . chose the defuse color of your material ,, selver you have to choose gray color

2 . make reflection to the material .. and the most important thing .. copy the defuse color to the reflection color

this will make realistic reflection to your material

3 . if you use vray ... don't choose fresnel reflection ... make it unchoos

4 . chose your material tips " ward "

for texture use raghness
