Render as Line drawing

Does anyone have a tutorial or suggestion in 3D Max 2020 on how to render the scene as a black and white line drawing?

Similar to a technical/construction drawing.

Thanks in advance

You can't render as a CAD drawing, but you can use ink 'n Paint for illustrated "Sketchup" style.

If you have 2d spline objects you can export via DWG or DXF to Adobe illustrator and get a line drawing from there.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your question! This sounds like a perfect job for the Arnold Toon shader, which I've used to do blueprint-type renders.

Can you please take a look at this page and let us know if this helps?

Take care, and we hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Jon,

It worked out great.  Any suggestions on how to anti alias the lines so they are crisp and clean? (see attached)

What parameters do you use on your blue prints?

Hi guys,

I'm looking for the exact same effect, just with Vray. The VrayToonMtl doesn't seem to be working - I've emailed Chaos as I think it's a bug. However it doesn't seem to have as many options as the link you provided to the Arnold shader above.

Anyone have any other ideas for Vray?

Thanks
