Hello, I am getting these mental ray error today. I have gotten them in the past when I was more inexperienced with Max and still am a bit when it comes to things like this. I was working on my file last night and was doing renderings and everything was fine. Today I opened up Max and noticed my HDRI was not in the background, which was strange because I never took it off my background. And when I looked in my background settings it was still set correctly. That was an easy fix. But it is doing this every time I start up Max now, this is really annoying. I fixed quite a few geometry issues and rendered for the first time today and am getting a bunch of errors. I read something about improperly labeled bitmaps, but couldn't find any. The render also seems to be darker than yesterday and one of my materials is not rendering correctly now.
Does anybody know how to diagnose where these errors are coming from so they can be fixed right away? It is all gibberish and when you look up the error online there are no answers or solutions. My computer is more than powerful enough, so this is not the issue. Please help.
Thanks,
Colby
I figured out the material and lighting issue, I remembered a couple things I did before I went to bed. I am still confused about the errors, and can't remember what I had changed to make the error occur. Any ideas how to read the Nvidia errors would be rather helpful.
Thanks
I figured out why the error was being produced, my backplate was leashed into the bump of the matte/shadows. Sorry to bother anybody with this issue.
