Hi I happily upgraded to 2017 looking forward to the new UI look (after almost 20 years of the same look it's a pretty interesting change).
But unfortunately IRAY will not render my materials correctly.
I tried using arch&design and I even got the IRAYmaterial plugin from nvidia (seems great btw)
but no matter what I try, it confuses which material goes on which object.
they show correct in the viewport, and show correct with other renderers (ie/ mental ray)
but when I render with IRAY all the materials get all mixed up. One texture will go on another object, and another on a different one.
rarely landing on the object its actually assigned to.
Multi ID objects get even more distorted with different textures on different faces...
thanks for any help.
I'm going to go try 2016 and see if it works there...

You are not alone.
But this only happens when opening an existing scene from Max2016 or older, right?
Try merging the old content in a new scene.
