Incorrect render output

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue while rendering an animation. The rendered images don't match with my viewport. I'm aware of safe frames and such.

I've added a couple of examples for you to see. I grabbed a screenshot of my viewport and placed the rendered images on top of the viewport in photoshop.

Here is the output of frame 1 which is pretty good right?

Safe-frames-1.gif

And here we have the same animation with the same render settings at frame 110 and same resolution.

 Safe-frames-110-2.gif

As you can tell the rendered image doesn't really match my viewport or does it?. I expected everything within the yellow safe frame would be rendered.  Does anyone know why this happens? i'm using 3ds max 2016 and i'm sorry but no. i can't share the file with you guys. IThe camera just moves around the scene and i didn't mess with zooming in or out or the field of view in the camera settings.

Just to be sure if I understand your problem.

Your output image size is smaller?? or the image zooms in??

hi. the output size is the same (1920 x 1080) . Somehow it starts to zoom in while rendering.

Check your track view editor, there you'll see if you have any animations keys in your camera.

Maybe you add some by mistake.

I've checked it just now and there's nothing there except for the x,y,z positions because of the movement.

I found a fix by myself.. in case someone ever comes accross the same issue this is what i did. I went into the render settings and found that the area to render (under common tab) was set to view. I "fixed" it by selecting region instead and then making a region of the complete viewport. I guess this isn't really the way it should be but at least i'm getting things rendered as i meant it to be.

This is very strange because there is actually no setting within 3D Max to change while rendering it output size or proportions.

What render engine are you using??

Glade works it out for you anyways.

I'm using Mental Ray. i don't get why it happened either but i can continue my work.. I just found out it's still slightly off but not by much.

Could you delete everything in your scene except for the camera, place a box or something on the interesting point and send it over?
