I have a problem with projecting an AVI file.

I’m trying to make a movie projector. The scene looks just fine, but the projected avi is stuck on frame 0.

The light is a target spot

In the modifier tab rectangle checkbox is checked

In the projector map area the map checkbox is checked

The None button next to the projector checkbox has been clicked and bitmap selected

The avi file has been selected

I did the same thing for the bitmap fit

I adjusted the hotspot/beam and the falloff/field accordingly

It looks just fine but won’t play in the rendered scene. Like a slideshow with only one slide. The avi file is one I made not to long ago and plays just fine in windows media player.

Here are two avi’s one is the scene with a projector screen

and the other is the projected avi.

Hi. Have tried with a image sequence? I'm not sure if Max accept an AVI to be used in that way, but even if it does, Max needs to load the whole file in memory instead of just reading one frame at a time, which can give you memory problems. The use of an image sequence instead will also usually give you a better render result.

Hope it helps
