How to turn off material self-illumination?

I need to turn off self-illumination to update renders I'm working on. I'm working with 3ds Max 2018 and opening scene files from 2011 and 2015, and when I render some materials will be bright red. I've found out its caused by self-illumination used in older program versions but cannot figure out how to turn it off. When I first open the filed the gamma/LUT settings box popped up asking to use default or adopt scene settings. I adopted the scene settings, was that the wrong step to take?

This kind of material have a luminance properties, put 0 or disable the emission option.

Another way is replace this material.  Select the material, right click, change material type
