Help aligning textures from one object to another

Hoping ya'll can help me out - I'm pretty new to 3DS max but I've been searching around for answers and haven't found anything that works

I have 2 objects that look nearly identical but have different underlying geometry (different # verts) and I'm trying to figure out how to copy the UVW map from one to the other so the textures also match. The object I'm copying from has FFD modifiers with the UVW map modifier at the bottom of the stack. The object I'm copying to has no modifiers

I tried the "acquire" function within the UVW map modifier but it doesn't respect the FFD modifiers of the parent object and the textures are misaligned

Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

Thanks for taking a look - here's the file. From frame 240-260, I transition from one model to the next and I'd like it to be seamless including the textures

Yes sorry there is a visibility track applied to transition from one to the other.

Here's a version with the visibility keyframes deleted to show both objects

Put the uvw map above the modifiers and it should work.Screenshot_9.pngScreenshot_10.png

Thanks for taking a look - when I do that the texture doesn't deform naturally in the animation. (It looks "projected on" and doesn't track with the deformation of the FFD)

This is the only way i can think of that will work.

Ah....unfortunately that just collapses all the modifiers and removes the animation from the object.

Thanks for taking a look - I might just have to remove the texture at this point

Is there supposed to be animation for both objects? And if you are going to remove the texture then are you not going to use any texture? And it might be helpful to post this problem to the animation and rigging instead of shading lighting and rendering which you have it on right now.

Yeah the first object has an animated FFD and the second has a baked cloth animation. I needed finer details for the cloth animation which is why there are more vertices in the second object.

I'll try posting in the other forum - thanks!

Btw the "acquire" function in the UVW map modifier does what I want, but I can only apply it to objects that have a UVW map modifier already. Ideally I could just "aquire" from the object you created after the "deatch". However it doesn't let me without applying a UVW modifier to the copied object first, which screws up the map. Do you know of any way around this?
