Exclude Xref Scene from Light

As I work with XRef scenes a lot I wonder why there is no way for exclude a Xref scene from a light. It is only possible to exclude objects in the actual scene. Does anybody know a workarround? I want to get lighter reflections from the sky which is mapped on a curved box to simulate a correct reflection on the windows of a building. To get more visible reflektions in the windows of the building which is lit by clear sunlight I tried to put an additional light in, that only should light the curved box. Sadly it adds also light to the building. Of course I could use an HDRI-Sky to do the same, but it is more work if you want to have the buildings of the opposite site in that HDRI.  Another way would to try it with self illumination of the curved box, but the colors are washed out then. Any suggestions?

Sorry, this is no Option for me. After switching from MentalRay to VRay 2 Years ago I´m not willing to change once more. Have to look for another way...
