Hi - I am unable to get DBR working in Max 2017

I have been through forums and found help and fixes.

The Max.Rayhost files on all machines shows the computer names and ip addresses

I have got raysat_3dsmax2017_64server is running on all machines (set to automatic start)

the error I get is:

SYSTEM: Production renderer is changed to NVIDIA mental ray. Previous messages are cleared.

As far as I can see getting the raysat running on all machines should solve this

Any ideas?

Did you check the permissions of those files??

Maybe they are being stop by Windows firewall or antivirus firewall.

Hello @roger_hick,

I'd like to help you with your DR problem here, and I appreciate you listing all the steps you've already taken.  Having recently setup the DR satellites myself, I know exactly what you went through to do it.  Thank you for your patience.

I think that @Francisco_Penaloza may be on the right track with his concern about firewall settings.  In 2016, the ports for the DR were slightly different than in 2017, so you may need to make sure that the computers can communicate on those ports listed in the error messages.  (7001, 7526).  I ran into this exact same problem recently diagnosing another issue, and entering those ports into my firewall (avast for me at home) solved it.  Please keep me posted!

Best Regards,

Hello @roger_hick,

I just wanted to follow up on this and see if there was any progress.  Anything new to report, or any progress on the issue?  Please keep me posted and thank you.

Hello - sorry for the delay replying

Yes that seems to solve it - I have applied the MR-Sattelite service fix.and set the ports the same on all machines

Thanks
