Use the presets second entry in the main render panel.
Adjust a bunch of things ---> "Save Preset..." then reset max, and load the preset to inject the settings on any scene.

Can't see the forest because all the trees are blocking the view, kinda thing LOL.

I've been there myself 🙂 ( earlier today I was looking for my computer glasses, went downstairs, outside, in the greenhouse, then had to look in a box where I sometimes put them, then put on the glasses to be able to see properly ( then went whaaat? they had been sitting on top of my head all the time )

Another quick approach other readers might use:

In your new document

File > Import > Merge (navigate to the old document with the render setting you want). In the Merge dialogue window that opens, tick Render Settings box (and untick others if it is hard to see the render setting), select Render Settings and okay the Merge.
