Converting V-Ray Materials to Standard for A360 Rendering in 3ds Max

I have free Autodesk A360 render chance with my Autodesk educational license. Because A360 Renderer offers interactive and static picture rendering services, and allows me to work on other projects while rendering, I wish to use it for my architectural visualization practice and projects.

The issue, however, is that even though I am skilled with Vray, the furniture I download from vray cosmos browser uses Vray mtl, and sketchup wearhouse furniture uses physical material, which is not supported by the A360 renderer, even if it supports Standered, Autodesk, Arch, and Design materials. It is rare to find furniture made of supported material.

I need to convert the vray mtl to standard material, but the scene converter doesn't have a path for it.

  • Please advise me on how to render using the A360 renderer at this time, also mention how others do it.
  • where can i find supported materiled furniture for architecture and,

where can find Autodesk Material course.

If you don't have a lot of materials one way is to pick the material off of the furniture in Slate, open a new Physical Material and just wire the V-Ray maps to it. If it doesn't have maps and is just settings, just copy those over.

Another way is to use 'Scene Converter...' from the 'Rendering' menu. It will convert the materials to Physical Materials.

Lastly, you could use a 3rd party plugin like 'V-MayMax Converter Pro 4.'
