Arnold Volume Shader Black with Fluids

Hi there,

I was following the tutorial online about using a volume shader with fluids in max to render foam but it always renders black.  The water material is fine and the foam is if I use a physical material, but I was hoping to use volume.

This is with Max 2021, is this a known thing or is there something I should be looking at in my Arnold settings.

Thanks.

You have to assign an Arnold Properties Modifier.
Read this, especially the Volume-section:

Hey,

@oliver I have tried that and must be doing something off.

I have an Arnold Properties modifier over the Liquid.  Volume is enabled Step Size is 1.  In the Arnold Properties I have the Volume Indirect set to 5 to make sure it shows.

In the Liquid render settings I have the Step Size set to 1 also.

In the materials, the material 2 is a volume with the scattering set to white.

I am not sure what else I am missing here, but the foam is always black.

Here is a screenshot with the various settings in place.

@martin.coven   Do you have any suggestions for this in 2021?
