MXS vs. localization and MCR

I have a couple of general questions about localizing a MXS - probably to you Denis 😉

a) There exists a .res with "~xx~" tags. So far ok. But using "Edit rollout" always destroys everything again. Is there a workaround or do I need a software for converting all strings back to tags again?

b) A .MS will be compiled to a .MCR, but in a different folder and with a different file name (includes the category). In which directory shall I store the .MCR.RES file for a proper language setup? Which files shall I distribute and in which folders shall I copy them with my setup program?

As for me, once I make a decision, I release all my tools exclusively using the English UI. Only that sometimes I make an exception, I do localization for tooltips.

You can use ~***~ string definitions with a .RES file for any script file type - MS or MCR. But this file must be loaded using the MAX autoload system. This means using one of the defined macros or plugins directories.

Well, honestly, your answer does not help me much, except, why the hell I need to localize it!

Now I'm playing with the idea, of moving the whole MXS stuff to C#.

I opened another thread with new questions.
