3D max 2018 crash down when start up, script controller error

Hello guys,

Please i really need help this is urgent.

i have downloaded a file from the internet , after i opened it , 3d max crashed and  couldnt start up again,

it keeps giving a script controller error with a white window , and it closes immediately.

i tried to repair the software, still have the same problem,

then i tried to uninstall and delete all 3dmax files left on the laptop,  then reinstall it all over again, still the same problem.

it happened with 3d max2016 first so i downloaded the 2018, and i cant solve the problem now.

i have windows 10,

Please please i need immediate help.

thank you.

You should provide all the error messages you receive - pop-up messages, all errors are displayed in the mxs listener ...

tell us about the tool you have installed (give us a link to it)

without these clues, I can only sympathize ...

thank you for your reply,

the thing is i cannot access the software to see if i have such a problem, it crashes down by itself immediately.

is there away i can check that , OR i will try to install it anyway , im not sure what would happen .

Hi @alaa.almadi,

without starting the program, :

"

This particular MAXScript file will be embedded into a Max scene file as a scripted controller. The script saves itself into hidden files in the folder :

C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\<ReleaseNumber> - 64bit\<Lang>\scripts\startup

as:

  • vrdematcleanbeta.ms
  • vrdematcleanbeta.mse
  • vrdematcleanbeta.msex

"

If you see these files, delete them.

Unless you have, and know, a 3rd party plugin to save files there, that folder should be empty by default.

Also verify if there is a "maxstart.max" file, if any, located by default in :
C:\users\<userName>\Documents\3dsMax\scenes\

If it exists, this is a scene file that Max will use as a start up template.
Remove the file if there is one.

Let me know how that goes,

regards,

Hi @alaa.almadi,

Delete the ENU Folder and restart

C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2018 - 64bit

Hi, you can google 'security tool for autodesk' and then proceed to download and install it. You can run your 3ds max file after installing it. It should be able to overcome your problem and your 3ds max would function normal.
