Visual Studio 2008 Express and Max 2010 Plugin Wizard Project Creation Failed

Hi all,

I am trying to write a Max exporter for my own model format. I followed the readme file on how to install the Max 2010 Plugin Wizard into Visual Studio Express 2008. However, when I try create a project using the wizard, I get this error in Visual Studio.

"Creating project 'maxProject1' ... project creation failed."

Anyone know why that would be?

Well I don't know why, but after I installed "Visual Assist X" visual studio was able to create the project correctly.

I had exactly the same Problem with the Project-Creation-Wizard-Files (3dsmaxPluginWizard.ico, 3dsmaxPluginWizard.vsdir, 3dsmaxPluginWizard.vsz) from the original DVD. The Files I found in another Post here in the forum finally worked:

Here is the Thread:
http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-3ds-max/sdk/reconfigurerecreate-max-8-sdk-appwizard-for-use-...

And here are the Files:

Good Luck,
Daniel

when you copy those wizard files into the visual studio directory, make sure they are not set to be read only. Visual Studio will need to modify them.
