RAM usage formula (the equation)

Greetings to all. I have an interesting question about the RAM usage during rendering.

If you omit all the nuances and subtleties of rendering engines and simplify them, then in fact this is a mathematical equation. This raises the question, can I somehow understand in advance how much RAM the rendering of a particular 3D scene will take up before launching this scene for rendering?

Based on indirect signs, several parameters can be identified to determine:

the number of polygons in the scene + the image resolution + the scene file size + the size of the available textures (or the total size of all textures) = ~ how much memory is needed

But this is only indirect. Is there any exact formula by which it is possible to calculate how much RAM will be needed for rendering before I launch the project for rendering? Or am I asking too much? 😅

That's a contradiction in terms:

"If you omit all the nuances.." and "Is there any exact formula.."

I'd say it depends entirely on how much and where the rendering engine caches data..

Yes, I understand that everything is much more complicated. Nevertheless, maybe then I should clarify this question with the developer of a particular engine? (on their forum, I mean)

CUDA based render engines are also coping data to the GPU memory..
