MAXScript .NET Runtime error: Could not load file or assembly

Hey all, trying to fix a error occurring in 3ds Max 2020 on startup. A short while after it occurs 3ds Max crashes. Image of the error is attached. 3ds Max had been working fine up until this suddenly started a few days ago (no updates or anything installed). As far as we can tell, there are no custom scripts installed or anything.

Things Tried:

Running in administrator mode

Reinstalling 3ds Max 2020

Uninstalling 2020 and installing 3ds Max 2019

Updating windows

Reinstalling .Net framework (3.5 and 4.0)

Repairing .Net framework

Fixing File permissions

Running system file checker

Replacing the ProdeduralContent.ms with one from a working 3ds Max 2020 build.

Deleting the user preferences files for 3ds Max

At this point, I've pretty much run out of ideas besides doing a fresh install of windows. Any other suggestions or ideas?

Windows 10.

Unfortunately we just had to end up going the fresh install route, and were never able to determine the root cause of the issue.

I'm wondering about the "Compression.FileSystem" .net error. Could your problem probably be related to a certificate issue the .net stuff might require? Or the .net stuff did not install properly.

But honestly, I have no idea - except Win10 attempted to update automatically.

In the past, I already had all kinds with .net & c++runtime installation/update issues on different machines. In such cases, I usually update everything with wsuoffline first.
